Pioneer DJ DDJ-REV5 – 2-Channel Scratch-Style DJ Controller
The Pioneer DJ DDJ-REV5 is a professional 2-channel DJ controller designed for open-format DJs, scratch enthusiasts, and performers who want creative freedom and precise control. Compatible with Serato DJ Pro and rekordbox, it combines large jog wheels, a responsive MAGVEL FADER, dedicated Stems controls, and an innovative scratch-style layout for dynamic DJ performances.
Whether you are performing live, creating mashups, mixing different music genres, or developing your scratching skills, the DDJ-REV5 gives you the tools to express your style and deliver engaging performances.
Key Features of the Pioneer DJ DDJ-REV5
1. Scratch-Style Layout for Creative DJ Performance
The DDJ-REV5 features a layout inspired by professional turntable and battle-mixer setups. Its long horizontal tempo sliders, centrally positioned Performance Pads, and Lever FX controls provide convenient access to the functions DJs need for scratching, beat juggling, and expressive mixing.
2. Large Jog Wheels with On-Jog Displays
The large jog wheels offer responsive control for scratching, cueing, and track manipulation. Each jog wheel includes an integrated display showing the playback position, helping you follow your tracks more accurately during performances. You can also adjust the jog feel to suit your preferred level of resistance.
3. MAGVEL FADER for Precise Scratching
The MAGVEL FADER is designed for smooth, accurate crossfader movements. Its responsive action makes it suitable for scratch techniques, quick cuts, and other performance styles that require precise control.
4. Dedicated Stems Controls
Create live mashups and remixes with dedicated Stems controls. Depending on the software used, you can isolate, mute, or adjust individual musical elements such as vocals, drums, bass, and other instruments.
These controls make it easier to blend different tracks creatively and develop more personalised performances.
5. Auto BPM Transition
The Auto BPM Transition feature helps transition between tracks with different tempos. Select the transition length and let the controller gradually adjust the playing track’s tempo towards the target track’s BPM.
You can also configure supported options, including Stems, Auto Loop, and Key Lock, to suit your transition style.
6. Piano Play Mode
Turn the 16 Performance Pads into a piano-style layout with Piano Play mode. Trigger cue points at different pitches and choose from three scales to create melodic variations, remixes, and expressive performance moments.
7. Performance Pads and Combo Pad Mode
The controller features eight backlit Performance Pads per deck for functions such as Hot Cues, effects, looping, and sampling. Combo Pad Mode allows two supported pad modes to be used simultaneously, expanding your performance possibilities.
8. Serato DJ Pro and rekordbox Compatibility
Connect the DDJ-REV5 to a compatible PC or Mac and use Serato DJ Pro or rekordbox. Pioneer DJ specifies that both applications can be used with the controller without requiring a separate software licence key or subscription for the supported controller functionality.
A voucher for the Serato Pitch ’n Time DJ expansion pack is also included in the standard package.
9. Flexible Connectivity for Professional Setups
The DDJ-REV5 includes XLR and RCA master outputs, a booth output, two headphone connections, two microphone inputs, and an AUX input. These connections support a range of performance environments, from home DJ practice to events and professional DJ setups.
Its two computer USB Type-C ports also make switching between DJs more convenient.
10. Built for Creative Open-Format DJs
With its scratch-focused design, modern software integration, dedicated Stems controls, and flexible performance tools, the DDJ-REV5 is suited to DJs who want to combine traditional scratching techniques with contemporary digital performance features.
