2×2 USB Audio Interface
The Behringer U-PHORIA UM2 combines two audio input channels and two audio output channels in a compact desktop design.
It allows you to connect compatible microphones, instruments and line-level audio sources to a computer for recording and monitoring.
The integrated design provides essential recording connections without requiring a separate audio interface and external microphone preamplifier for a compatible setup.
It is a practical choice for musicians, content creators and beginners building a home recording studio.
+48V Phantom Power
The Behringer U-PHORIA UM2 includes switchable +48V phantom power for compatible condenser microphones that require external power.
This feature makes it suitable for recording vocals and other audio sources with compatible studio microphones.
Check your microphone’s power requirements before enabling phantom power.
Microphone, Line and Instrument Inputs
The UM2 provides two input channels with connections for compatible audio sources.
Its input connections include:
- XLR/¼-inch combination input: Accepts compatible microphone and line-level connections.
- Dedicated ¼-inch instrument input: For connecting compatible instruments such as electric guitars and bass guitars.
The combination input accommodates supported XLR and ¼-inch connections, while the dedicated instrument input allows you to connect a compatible instrument directly.
This arrangement is particularly useful for singer-songwriters, guitarists and home recording enthusiasts.
48 kHz Audio Conversion
The Behringer U-PHORIA UM2 supports audio conversion at sample rates of up to 48 kHz.
It is suitable for recording vocals, musical instruments, podcasts, voiceovers and other audio projects using compatible recording software.
Potential applications include:
- Recording vocals and backing vocals
- Recording guitar and bass
- Creating music demos
- Producing podcasts
- Recording audio for videos
- Capturing musical ideas on a computer
Your final recording quality also depends on the microphone, instrument, recording environment, software and recording technique.
Direct Monitoring
The U-PHORIA UM2 includes a direct monitoring function that allows you to listen to incoming audio while recording.
Its Direct Monitor selection and Mix control help you manage monitoring during a recording session.
The dedicated headphone output makes it convenient to listen to your performance while recording vocals or instruments.
Direct monitoring is particularly useful for musicians and content creators who need to hear their input while recording.
Headphone and RCA Outputs
The Behringer U-PHORIA UM2 provides a dedicated headphone output and two RCA audio outputs for compatible monitoring equipment.
The available connections include:
- ¼-inch stereo headphone output: For connecting compatible headphones.
- Two RCA outputs: For connecting compatible speakers, studio monitors or other audio equipment with suitable RCA inputs.
These connections make it possible to monitor recorded audio through headphones or a compatible speaker system.
Check the input connections on your equipment and use the appropriate cables.
USB Connectivity and Power
The U-PHORIA UM2 connects to a compatible computer through its USB Type-B connection and receives operating power through USB.
Its bus-powered design means that a separate external power adapter is not required for normal operation.
This makes the interface convenient for desktop recording setups and users who need a compact device for everyday audio recording.
Check the manufacturer’s current compatibility information before connecting it to your computer.
Recording Software Compatibility
The Behringer U-PHORIA UM2 is designed to work with compatible computer-based digital audio workstations (DAWs).
Behringer identifies software such as Avid Pro Tools, Ableton Live and Steinberg Cubase among the compatible recording software options associated with the interface.
It can be used for supported recording, editing and music production workflows.
Software compatibility depends on your operating system, drivers and recording application. Confirm current compatibility before purchasing.
Compact Design
The Behringer U-PHORIA UM2 features a compact desktop design suitable for home studios, music production desks and portable recording arrangements.
