The Galaxy Note 20 Ultra goes big on design, but in a rather understated and classy way. Compared to its predecessors, the phone maintains the same basic design language but brings in some much-needed refinements to help the Note 20 Ultra emerge as a much better choice.hile the Galaxy S20 and Note 10 phones were beautiful looking devices in their own right, the Galaxy Note 20 Ultra takes the design game a notch up with its frame that looks overpowering, but in reality, is quite comfortable to hold in the hand. The Note 20 Ultra is a gorgeous beast that’s crafted solely from metal and glass. However, what makes it quite different from the Note 10+ and the S20 Ultra is the treatment of glass on the device.
Much like the Samsung flagships before it, the Galaxy Note 20 Ultra also uses glass at the back. But this time around, this sheet at the back gets a frosted glass finish, instead of the glossy reflective treatment we’ve seen on flagships from Samsung in the recent past. This helps give the Note 20 Ultra a sense of understated class, which too be honest, is just the look that productivity-focused flagship devices from the Galaxy Note series should always be going for.
Another point of an upgrade here is that Samsung has managed to cut unnecessary flab, making the phone much slimmer, and thereby more manageable than the Galaxy S20 Ultra and the Note 10 Plus. Compared to these two, the Note 20 Ultra’s design feels more refined, and overall quite lightweight and ergonomic in the hand. There still remains some good amount of heft on the device, with the Note 20 Ultra weighing in at 208 grams — compared to the 196 grams of the Note 10 Plus — which to Samsung’s credit has been evenly balanced out throughout the phone. This again helps with the grip of the device.
