Pioneer DJ DDJ-REV1 – Take Your DJ Performances to the Next Level
The Pioneer DJ DDJ-REV1 is a 2-channel DJ controller designed for aspiring DJs, scratch performers and open-format DJs who want a hands-on mixing experience. Its battle-style layout recreates the feel of a professional DJM-S mixer and PLX turntable setup, making it suitable for learning scratching techniques, practising transitions and performing live sets.
Designed to work with Serato DJ Lite, the DDJ-REV1 combines large jog wheels, performance pads, FX levers and intuitive mixer controls in a compact design. It also supports Serato DJ Pro through a separately purchased licence or subscription.
Whether you are practising at home, creating DJ mixes or performing for an audience, the DDJ-REV1 provides practical controls to help you develop your skills and express your style.
Key Features of the Pioneer DJ DDJ-REV1
Battle-Style Layout for Scratching and Mixing
The DDJ-REV1 features a battle-style control layout inspired by professional DJM-S mixers and PLX turntables. Its horizontal tempo sliders and performance pads positioned in the mixer section make it easier to combine scratching, effects and mixing techniques.
The layout is particularly suitable for hip-hop, open-format and scratch-focused DJ performances.
Large Jog Wheels for Hands-On Control
The controller features two 154 mm jog wheels that provide plenty of space for manipulating tracks. They support scratching in Vinyl mode and pitch bending for adjusting playback during a mix.
The larger jog wheels help make hands-on track control more comfortable during practice and performance.
Lever FX for Creative Transitions
The dedicated FX levers let you apply effects from Serato DJ Lite. Hold a lever to apply effects in short bursts, or use its lock-on position to keep an effect engaged while you continue browsing tracks or scratching.
These controls make it easier to add texture and variation to transitions and performances.
Tracking Scratch for Easier Scratching
Tracking Scratch helps return a track to its cue point when you move the jog wheel in the specified way or lift your hand away. By combining this feature with the appropriate performance-pad mode, you can practise scratch patterns without repeatedly searching for the starting point.
It is a useful feature for beginners learning scratch techniques and experienced DJs looking for a more streamlined workflow.
Performance Pads and Scratch Bank
The DDJ-REV1 includes 16 performance pads for triggering functions such as Hot Cues, Auto Loop, Tracking Scratch and Sampler.
It also supports Scratch Bank functionality in compatible Serato software, allowing you to load assigned scratch samples quickly during a performance.
Serato DJ Lite Integration
The controller works with Serato DJ Lite, which is available as a free download. Connect the DDJ-REV1 to a compatible PC or Mac using the supplied USB cable, install the software and begin mixing.
For users who need additional software features, Serato DJ Pro is also supported with a separately purchased licence or subscription.
Control Up to Four Software Decks
Although the DDJ-REV1 is a 2-channel controller, its deck-selection controls let you access tracks loaded on up to four software decks in Serato DJ Lite.
This gives you additional flexibility when working with samples, extra tracks and more complex DJ sets.
Microphone Input for Speaking and Streaming
The controller includes a ¼-inch unbalanced microphone input and a dedicated microphone level control. Its microphone audio can be mixed with the master audio and sent through Serato DJ Lite for compatible streaming workflows.
This is useful for DJs who want to add announcements, commentary or vocals to their performances.
Essential Connections and USB Power
The DDJ-REV1 provides an RCA master output for compatible speakers or amplifiers and a 3.5 mm stereo headphone output for cue monitoring.
It connects to your computer through USB Type-B and is USB bus-powered, so a separate power adapter is not required for normal operation.
